Josh Zalaback and Jon Ivey are both local Charleston woodworkers. From furniture to musical instruments, these two have crafted many things out of wood! Together they came up with the idea of a wooden bowtie. The two of them have handcrafted every single bowtie by cutting the wood veneer to size, bending it and putting on the varnish. Paired with a soft leather neckband, every step is completed by their hands. Their goal was to create a wooden bowtie, that at first glance, was indistinguishable from standard, fabric bowties. They’ve pulled this off by making the knot the same bentwood as the rest of the tie, just like a tied fabric bowtie would all be one material.

This tie is made from Cherry wood that is bent and then sanded into shape. The neckband is made from 3 oz. buttery soft, dark brown leather.
